I know Angus is happy! Ok, so he may be peeing in this picture…. But he is even cute when he is doing that.
Dogs stop to smell everything! I would say with some dogs it is 60% sniffing and 40% walking. Angus has his days where all he wants to do is stop to fully take in his surroundings.
You see, dogs are not in any hurry. Sure, it’s not like they have a meeting with the cat at 2:00 that they can’t miss. But, that does not take anything away from the fact that they appreciate every part of their day for what it is. They are present during each moment, and don’t stress about time.
I feel like sniffing is more important to being a dog than a human. But hey, if you want to get down on your hands and knees to smell the world, go for it! I think I’ll skip it though. There are other ways to live in the moment. The best way to start is to stop worrying about everything that must be done during each day. That kind of stress is unproductive and makes you miss out on everything going on around you. Another super common thing is humans do is glue our eyes to the screen of our smart phone. Angry Birds can wait, you have a life you are supposed to be living!
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Their is a beautiful world out there being wasted. Just tilt your head back and enjoy the warmth of the sun on your face!
